COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE
RESOLUTION No. 1/2026
Subject: Correction of Seeded Team Designation in the M50 Category
The Competitions Committee of the FIMBA European Championship Athens 2026,
CONSIDERING:
That, during the preparation of the draw for the Men's 50+ (M50) category, three teams from Poland were entered into the competition;
That, based on the information available at the time of the draw and the team designation used in previous editions, Poland was assigned seeded status in the category;
That, following a subsequent verification of the official player database and team rosters, the Competitions Committee determined that the team whose sporting results in previous FIMBA competitions justify seeded status is Polska Koszalin, and not Poland;
That this circumstance was identified prior to the commencement of the competition;
That maintaining the correct seeding is necessary to preserve the sporting integrity of the tournament and to ensure consistency with the results achieved in previous FIMBA events;
THE COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE RESOLVES:
Article 1. To designate Polska Koszalin as the seeded team in the M50 category, occupying the position assigned to the seeded team in the official draw.
Article 2. To assign Poland to the position originally occupied by Polska Koszalin in the official draw, thereby exchanging the positions of both teams while maintaining all other teams and draw positions unchanged.
Article 3. To ratify all other aspects of the draw and competition structure as originally published.
Article 4. To communicate this resolution to all participating teams in the M50 category and to publish it through the official channels of the Championship.

That the representative of the Switzerland team informed the Competitions Committee that, due to the arrival times of the team's international flights, the delegation would be unable to arrive in time to play the game as originally scheduled;
That, together with the request, the team representative submitted the corresponding documentation supporting the circumstances described;
That, after reviewing the information provided, the Competitions Committee considered the request to be duly justified and determined that rescheduling the game would ensure the proper development of the competition and allow the teams to play the game as originally intended;

### RESOLUTION No. 5/2026
Subject: Modification of Game Times – Monday, 29 June 2026
The Competitions Committee of the FIMBA European Championship Athens 2026,
CONSIDERING:
That, by Resolution No. 4/2026, the M50 game between ARGENTINA - Junín and GERMANY B was rescheduled to 20:00 on Sunday, 28 June 2026;
That, as a consequence of that modification, ARGENTINA - Junín would not have the minimum 20-hour rest period required under the Competition Regulations before its next scheduled game;
That it is therefore necessary to adjust the schedule of the affected games in order to ensure compliance with the Competition Regulations while minimizing the impact on the overall competition schedule;
THE COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE RESOLVES:
Article 1. The M50 game between GB - FIMBA GB Blue and ARGENTINA - Junín, originally scheduled for 14:15 on Monday, 29 June 2026, at Kifissia Vikelas Sports Hall, shall instead be played at 16:00 at the same venue.

COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE
RESOLUTION No. 6/2026
M50 Category – Determination of the 5th–8th Place Classification Games
The Competitions Committee, having reviewed the claim submitted by Poland – Polska Koszalin regarding the determination of the classification games for 5th to 8th place in the M50 category,
WHEREAS:
Prior to the commencement of the competition, during the Technical Meeting, all participating teams were expressly informed that, for the purpose of determining the final classification among teams eliminated during the knockout stage, only the results obtained during the second stage of the tournament would be taken into account, and that results from the preliminary round would not be considered.
The appellant argues that it should compete for 5th and 6th place instead of Germany B, based on the fact that Poland defeated Germany B during the preliminary round of the competition.
However, this argument cannot be accepted, as it directly contradicts the competition criteria that were announced and agreed upon before the tournament began. Consequently, results from the preliminary stage are not applicable for determining the classification games in question.
Furthermore, the Committee has examined the competition format and notes that certain teams qualified directly for the quarterfinals as seeded teams, while others were required to play an additional Round of 16 match.
In particular, Poland – Polska Koszalin advanced directly to the quarterfinals without playing a Round of 16 game.
Accordingly, calculating the point differential by combining the Round of 16 and Quarterfinal games would create an unfair competitive advantage for those teams that had the opportunity to record a victory in the Round of 16 before reaching the quarterfinals. Such a method would place the seeded teams, which did not play in that round, at an inherent disadvantage.
In order to ensure equal treatment of all teams involved, the Committee determines that only the Quarterfinal games shall be considered for the purpose of establishing the ranking among the losing quarterfinalists.
The Quarterfinal results were as follows:
* Greece – EKA Athens defeated Switzerland 54–46 (Switzerland: –8).
* Italy – Italbasket Master defeated Poland – Polska Koszalin 53–44 (Poland – Polska Koszalin: –9).
* Greece – S.P.A.K. Peiraia defeated Germany B 52–34 (Germany B: –18).
* Germany A defeated FIMBA GB Brotherhood 72–51 (FIMBA GB Brotherhood: –21).
Accordingly, the ranking of the losing quarterfinalists, based exclusively on the Quarterfinal point differential, is as follows:
1. Switzerland (–8)
2. Poland – Polska Koszalin (–9)
3. Germany B (–18)
4. FIMBA GB Brotherhood (–21)
THEREFORE, THE COMPETITIONS COMMITTEE RESOLVES:
Article 1. To reject the claim submitted by Poland – Polska Koszalin, since the preliminary round results are not applicable to the determination of the classification games, in accordance with the competition criteria established during the Technical Meeting prior to the start of the tournament.
Article 2. To establish that, for the purpose of determining the teams competing for the 5th–6th and 7th–8th places in the M50 category, only the Quarterfinal results shall be taken into consideration, as this is the only knockout stage played by all teams concerned under equal conditions.
Article 3. Consequently, the classification games shall be played as follows:
* 5th–6th Place: Switzerland vs. Poland – Polska Koszalin.
* 7th–8th Place: Germany B vs. FIMBA GB Brotherhood.
Article 4. This Resolution shall be notified to all affected teams and shall enter into force immediately upon its publication.
